I need to take a better picture of this, but... well... the long awaited cartography project. I'm getting prints done of this map to sell in local gift shops and stores and at the North Carolina Aquarium.

You can't make out most of the finer detail in this picture, that's the problem and the reason I want to take another picture of it. One that's better... anyway... just wanted to get it loaded up here.

Watercolor and ink on Arches.

Haha. Thanks man! :) I'm looking forward to getting the prints done and hopefully making some $. Gotta scale 'em down a bit though. The original is a pretty good size: 30 inches x 25 inches.

NICE! i always think about working my originals that size so i can keep those nice edges the watercolor paper comes with. i usually just chop it up in half and work on the 15x25 size.

What's really fun is to get a big roll of watercolor paper like you'd get canvas in. You can get some from [link] (which is where I order mine) if your local art supply store doesn't carry it. Then you can work -really- big watercolors. I've got a couple that are larger than 30x40--which is the size most of my paintings are. I have to soak the paper in the bathtub and then I make a bit of a mess tacking it to the stretcher frame, but the couple of times I've gone through the trouble it's been worth it.

Okay, first, I'm dutifully taking notes.
Fear!

Secondly, let me know when you get prints for those! My dad has ALWAYS loved watercolors and maps. He'd love one!
(If I don't keep it for myself!)
I cower in terror at your note taking. I think I'm going to do another one of these just depicting the wrecks from World War II. There are quite a few of them!

I'll certainly let you know when I get prints for these done. I discovered that there are two places in town that do Giclee printing so I don't have to take the painting up to Raleigh or Richmond to get it done. Yay for support of local businesses!
